Virginia cattle farmers say drought, an early frost and rising costs are already putting pressure on their operations this year.

Now, they’re facing another concern: lower tariffs on imported beef.

The tariff change is part of President Trump’s effort to increase the amount of beef imported into the U.S. and lower prices at grocery stores.
Brandon Reeves, executive director of the Virginia Cattlemen’s Association, says the lower tariffs come at a difficult time for producers who are selling their cattle.
