*In regards to the 80's: I did not intend to imply goths did not dress to the 9's to go out or even on a daily basis; my comparison was more meant to be applied to the Jonny Sluts and Nina Hagen's of the world, and the more extreme looks today. Having read many comments and talked to goths from the 80's, your experience will vary from city to city. I've heard tell of 80's goths with virtually no access to clothing and 80's goths who spent 2 hours every day doing their hair and makeup.
