I tried hip mounting my GoPro Hero 4 helmet camera on my belt while riding my race horse. I attached it to my belt with Velcro and rubber bands. I was hoping it would capture a cool and different perspective not seen on the helmet camera mounts.
I like the view the GoPro Hero 4 recorded, but I moved around to much when riding the horse. This was my first experiment mounting the GoPro this way, but now I know I need to keep my body upright and not bend over when galloping the race horse if I want a steady shot. I normally have the GoPro mounted to my helmet. Check out my other video. This one went semi viral: youtu.be/45hdjzNgLfc It's me galloping or "working" my race horse 44 mph on the track. I had a GPS equipped heart rate monitor on the horse that recorded the speed.
A subscriber recommended mounting the GoPro on my chest but mounting it was more complicated than I expected. So while still working on the new mounting methods, I attached the action camera to my belt just to see how that looked. Not bad if I kept still. Check out the new GoPro Hero 4 in 2014!
