Step by step how-to instructions on how to repair the rear glass panel on your pixel 2 smartphone, or turn it into a custom "panda" version.
Step 1: Take your phone to an authorized Google repair center. Do not attempt to do this repair at home. You will be disappointed.
Step 2: I know you're not going to listen to step 1, so here is what happens...
Normally with a modern smartphone, you apply heat & pry from the edges to remove the old glass in one piece. Not with this phone. Nope. There's a bead of heavy duty adhesive around the outside edges. I had to chip away at the glass, shard by shard. The flash cover flew onto the ground & now has a crack. The camera lens is integrated into the camera unit, so if you scratch it or it's trim ring while chipping at the glass, you now have a ghetto looking camera. And to top it off, the cheap Chinese replacement glass does not have adhesive where the camera and flash are, nor does it provide a replacement bead around the edges, so you'll now have a slightly loose camera & a phone with diminished water resistance (in addition to some cuts on your hand & glass in your eye).
