So Higurashi was Baby's First Edgy Anime when I was a teen, and after that I really got into Umineko, made by the same dude, and to me that was always the better of the series between the two. Then I learned the two new higurashi seasons had Umineko references, what with featherine in it and also mention of witches, and i was like oh hell yeah and so I watched them. It's a lot of the same formula at first but then it actually picked up, and I was like oh, this is GAY gay.

Love that this anime was essentially the birth of Lambdadelta/Bernkastel's twisted love for each other even if they don't blatantly outright say it.
