Thanks for watching! In this Godot Game Engine tutorial I cover:
- Using the AnimatedSprite node
- Switching node types in your scene
- Creating poses & animations for your character in a SpriteFrames resource [using provided character sprite .png image files (see download link below if you don't have them)
- Programming (GDscript) a game character to switch to different animations when movement keys (left, right, jump, etc) keys are pressed, including when nothing if pressed and character is on/off the ground.
- Animations implemented in this video: Idle, Walk, in Air.
- Crouch and Climb animations were also created, but will be implemented in future videos.
- Using the $ operator to access scene nodes in code (GDscript)
- Flipping the player's sprite when moving left/right.
