Some new things to do with Ice Rage-glitch in this fight.

0:00 - you can Ice Rage-glitch Castor before the fight has even started. For some reason, he vanishes to some distant, unknown coordinates - you can tell by casting Soul Rage souls. Naturally, this makes the fight unwinnable.

0:32 - you can Ice Rage-glitch Castor after throwing the rock but before the fight has started proper. This makes him drop into the pit for a moment. However, even this minor displacement is enough to glitch up the fight! The camera doesn't work properly, and the boss himself enters a passive state where he usually doesn't attack Kratos and no longer registers as a proper target (f.e. Soul Rage souls do not target him). If he does attack Kratos, many of his attacks lack hit detection and pass through without doing anything. More of this effect was seen in the pt. 1 video. At any rate, the fight is now unwinnable.

1:19 - in the phase with the destructible pillars, if you try to do Ice Rage-glitch when the boss is moving between pillars, this teleports Kratos instead of moving the boss. The results are fatal.

1:38 - if you're careful and manage to get close enough to a pillar without the boss teleporting away, then Ice Rage the pillar itself, it's possible to slowly pull the boss down from the pillar. Sadly, the boss is immune to damage and death floor. Furthermore, the fight is now unwinnable.

(Not on the vid: once I managed to drop the boss down on the other side so that he fell off the map entirely, but nothing unusual happened as a result - the fight became unwinnable all the same.)

2:31 - the fight cannot progress even if you destroy all the pillars in the area.

2:58 - moving the boss so that the cutscene before the final cutscene becomes displaced. The visual effect isn't too interesting, though. To note, this is surprisingly difficult to do since often Kratos teleports to the boss instead. With bad timing, the boss' shock-wave also interrupts Ice Rage before it can do anything.

3:25 - this makes the finale of the fight begin with the boss displaced. This isn't anything too special either, as this same effect could be achieved by simply using Ice Rage after the checkpoint as started. But it's interesting to note that the boss becomes checkpointed in this displaced position and always appears there even after a retry. The boss really has nothing to lose from collapsing the entire area, considering that he is immune to the death collision but Kratos isn't.

3:55 - doing the finishing QTE displaced. This was seen in pt. 1 too in a slightly different position. But, here's the really interesting part...

4:20 - It looks like Kratos is completely free to act during the black-out separating the cutscenes. For instance, in this clip, I do an Ice Magic that must have continued uninterrupted for at least a second since you can see its graphical effect too. The position of the ice vortex suggests that Kratos was standing right there on the ground level during the time the screen was blacked out, even if visually he appears to finish his fall in the following cutscene.

Most of the time when I tried to do actions or cast magic during this black-out time, nothing happened, which made me think that there's only a frame or two (at best) to do actions during it. Who knows, perhaps during most attempts there IS only a frame or two of freedom here.

At first I thought that displacing the QTE had something to do with giving Kratos more time to move freely, but thinking about it now, it's probably more likely that Kratos can move longer during the black-out time if you're playing this part for the first time (i.e. not retrying from last checkpoint) and the game has to load more things. Or maybe it's just random? Who knows with Ascension.

Although it's hard to test, there's a slight chance that you could quick roll and activate the R1-prompts ahead in total darkness if you're free to move. Definitely the sort of an obscure potential time saving measure that should be tested further...

4:42 - a slightly funny looking result if you fail the displaced QTE.
