After 23 successful years at Ebley Wharf Mill, the much-loved children’s soft play centre Go Bananas has officially closed its doors, marking the end of an era for families across Stroud and beyond.
Since opening, Go Bananas has become a cornerstone of the community, offering a vibrant and welcoming space for children and families to play, celebrate birthdays, and create lasting memories. The venue has also hosted numerous group events, including sleepovers for Cubs, Scouts, and Brownies.
The closure comes as the Ebley Wharf Mill site undergoes redevelopment into a mix of residential apartments and houses.
However, this is not goodbye—it’s a fresh beginning.
Go Bananas is thrilled to announce its relocation to a brand-new, purpose-designed facility at Oldends Hall, located in Stonehouse. The new venue represents a significant investment in the future of family entertainment in the region.
The upgraded centre will feature: State-of-the-art jungle-themed play equipment, including treehouses, vines, and bamboo huts, a wide range of slides and interactive sensory areas, three dedicated party rooms for celebrations and events and four on-site paddle courts, with additional courts planned
Speaking about the move, Owner and Director Jake Jacobs told Stroud Times’ Faye Hatcher the new site will allow Go Bananas to expand its offering while continuing to serve the community it has been proud to support for over two decades.

Go Bananas will officially reopen to the public on Saturday, May 2, with free on-site parking available for all visitors.
