Chongqing is absolutely awesome!! Wow, all insane expectations were met. We expected raw, tough, huge, enormous. And all of this was exceeded. Between all of this, we visited the Chongqing Grand Theater, designed by GMP architekten (the largest german architecture firm and fully active in China for 2 decades) There is an enormous contrast. This building is pure, enormous and hostile. But boy, does it fit well in Chongqing, exactly because of these contrast. Standing proud on a large podium it overlooks Chongqing. It is visible from the bustling city center and doesnt seem to care. We loved it!
