We found these glow worms outside of our house in Tugela Ferry, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. They are the larval forms of a beetle in the family Lampyridae. The family has thousands of species which are widely distributed around the world. I had never seen a larval form before and was quite excited to see these outside my window.
