We found this sand dollar on the peninsula in Alamitos Bay, Long Beach, CA. In this video, you can see the spines which the sand dollar uses for locomotion and to bury itself in the sand. I had not realized that there are also spines on the upper half of the body as well.
I shot this video with an Olympus TG-6 waterproof camera. It has a good macro function as demonstrated in this video.
