The 2013 floods in Germany caused € 6 billion in lost manufacturing productivity, with another € 400 million in losses in other regions due to supply chain disruption. The Paraná river drought in 2021 threatened water supply in Argentina, increased energy prices in the region and resulted in a loss of more than 100 million dollars for the shipping sector.
