Evie (ChickasaurusGL) 🌺 | Glitches when modifying memory address D09B before viewing a text box (Red/Blue) @ChickasaurusGL | Uploaded September 2023 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
This memory address is meant to only be used for sprite animations, and is otherwise reset after various interactions such as closing the Start menu.
Having it to a non-00 value before a text box causes continuous execution of 56C6 at the wrong bank, hence the execution of garbage data (the intended seems to be 1C:56C6 MonNestIconEnd or 1C:56C6 TownMapSpriteBlinkingAnimation). This can cause strange behaviours like cycling through text boxes or freezing the game.
In Yellow, modifying D09A can also cause a brief animation but without freezing the game.
