Phew!
I've been working on this one on and off since April, and i feel like this is one of my 2007-ish styled edits that i'm quite proud of :3 One of the things that i was looking forward to finishing!

This started after i had found this song and it quickly became my favorite for a while! Just as soon, i noticed that, while looping the song, i got very vivid visions of what a pixelated, 2007-styled edit of this could look like. My idea of the first clip was especially vivid, and i knew that i wanted this edit to have a moving border. Pretty sure i also had background animations that look like this in my mind from the start, as well.
I decided to use Mo Dao Zu Shi bc it's my usual media to go to with videos like this, and Idolish7 bc of the art style and the graceful, detailed animations in one of the music videos, which fit the sound of the chorus imo :3 I tried to make the clips fit the tone of the lyrics too!
In the first evening i did, if not most of the first section, then at the very least finished the Wei clip at the start. I got really into making this, and everything was quickly shaping up to look great.
In addition, i decided to make the lyrics gay- owo XD
Oh, and i believe deciding on a coloring/color palette that i wanted for this also happened quite quickly! ^^

There were some clips that i hadn't set until quite a while later, and there were parts that i immediately knew i wanted to work on. Eventually i decided to create 3 original sections and then the last one would be the first one mostly playing in reverse (the clips themselves, that is) with some added effects. Both so i could maintain my level of motivation and ideas, and so it could be a callback to the start of the edit ^^
I really enjoyed adding text to this one too! It was fun to use all sorts of fonts for this, and i decided to make the text in the style of old lyric videos from 2011 or so :3 with the classic lil', ''feathery glow'' and duo colors at points :D
As a result i also re-found an old font that i remember from waaayy back in the day bc at one point i had a particular idea of using a font that has text with hearts in it. I stumbled across the font ''Kinkee'', which fit perfectly for the feel that i was going for :3

It was extremely fun to visualize this song, i feel like my ideas worked out p much exactly the same or even better than what i had in mind uwu
When I reversed and looped the twixtored motion of Wei at the start and it looked exactly how i hoped it would, i knew i had something good on my hands x3 In fact! That section has gotta be my fave part of this edit, i figured that its vibe is quite fitting for how i see the sound of that lyric, so i went ahead and used it a couple more times, and also to create some extra consistency in this edit :3

Likewise it was also fun to return to this edit after having to focus on conventionally pretty editing and video editing theory for a while. I could still do this style, but i noticed small little details that i could explain with both an emotional and a logical lens, such as creating a ''circle/repeating composition'' in this video by repeating the section that plays at the start, at the end as well :3

When i finished editing, there was an inexplicable empty layer titled ''give it to me ❤️'' (but with the emoticon) and i think i might have written that months back in the hopes that i'd put something related to that lyric there, but yea. It was, rather amusing to see it empty bc i thought the name implied that it had something important in it- owo XD

About the thumbnail - i decided to try out combining the style that i had decided on for these kinds of edits, with the new kind of thumbnail style i'd like to continue trying out now :3

$[ Reminisce of childhood. ] { A distraction for myself } Yesterday my mind simply started to force and shove bad thoughts into my head and I began to cry and simply feel very bad. This happened while I was finally editing another edit again, but I couldnt focus enough on that edit anymore as I felt like I hated what I was making. I looked up a tutorial for an effect that I wanted and I heard this song in the background of that tutorial. I quickly looked it up bc it sounded interesting, and I felt like this quickly became my current favorite song. I also quickly began to get video ideas for an edit with this song, so, this was the result. This isnt a vent edit, more of a simple distraction. Also since I didnt feel like the lyrics of the song, at the time, but more like the general sound of this song. After finishing this edit, I didnt feel well again, and I felt like I was empty, just in a state of existing rather than feeling anything. I would really like to say, tho, that I did begin to feel better later on, yesterday night, too, after I went on a spree of listening to active and happy music, hoping that it could help me feel better, which it did! After I think three or four songs, and some other things, I started smiling and feeling a bit happier again. This could also be a thing that I could try to do other times, and something that I might recommend yall to try if you feel the need to! I know it can be hard to listen to anything positive, and also positve music, when you simply dont feel like it, but Ive recently learned that it could help because your brain expects to see what it hears in the music, so it could try to generate the energy of the song into your emotions as well. So today Im doing good again. I wasnt sure if I wanted to upload this but now Ive decided to do so, since I have done a couple new-ish things in this edit, even if its very simple. Also my main focus in this edit wasnt the effects but simply to put emotion into it. And honestly I want to say that Im glad to be editing again after, what feels like, a very long time of not having the motivation to. Well see if Ill end up finishing any project soon or not ^^ I actually have mid-semester showcases happening rn, so, oof ^^ Speaking of not editing for a while, I was actually wondering what it would be like to get back into the feel of editing. At first it was a little uncomfortable to edit this bc things werent looking the way I wanted them to, but as I edited I finally got back into the zone of doing things and then I was able to do what I wanted. Aaaand only as I began rendering I realized that I hadnt added my watermark, but I suppose that isnt a big problem here. This also took 6 minutes and 34 seconds to render which is very good ^^ I also wanted to add lyrics for the start of the chorus but by the end of making this, I didnt have the energy to. I simply wanted to get this done and over with. This wasnt the first thing I imagined that I would upload after this time, but maybe that edit will see the light of day sometime soon too ^^ Well just have to wait and see. And have a good day/night as well. ~ Song: Rauf & Faik - Детство Program: Sony Vegas Pro 14 Layers: 20 Time taken: 3 hours Media: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII$ ${{ Blind edit }} [ No RAM previewing ] This was a seriously random idea XD This started when I was talking to BethTheFallen, and she wanted to say deaf edit at one point but she accidentally said blind edit and then I was struck with a catastrophe of an idea XD My first thought was that I could cover my eyes by tying a scarf over them, and she could try to tell me where my cursor is on the screen, but since that Disaster went exactly Nowhere, I tried a form of a blind edit that she suggested - to make an edit but not watch it on the preview screen - basically, I wasnt allowed to RAM preview this and hear it with the audio, or hear any audio, and I could only use my arrow keys as a form of previewing. What made it difficult was that the waveforms for this song all seem so...similar, so it was kinda hard to tell whats what sometimes, and Im kinda annoyed that I did something off the beat near the end XD Also yes, its this song again. Heavily inspired by my season 0 The Devil edit bc what is Effort XD Now that I think back to it, it wouldve been neat if I at least added the orange-yellowish color of Haous eyes into the isolated colors, but oh well. I had literally no other idea for what song to use, and I thought that this song is generally fun to edit with, so ye. The overall idea of an edit with this song and Judai and Haou actually came to me about a month ago - but it was def meant to be a more professional edit than this. I also wanted to use that same clip and audio that I used here at the end, but it was meant for a different point in the song. The ending of it, to be precise. There were points where I accidentally pressed the spacebar, and therefore I heard the little part at 0:08, but oh well. At least then I knew that it was on the beat XD Speaking of beats, this result feels interesting, but very wrong to me??? Everything feels misplaced, oml XD The only thing that I knew was gonna be the way it was was the start - I knew that that part was gonna have those lyrics, so thats the only one I added lyrics _to._ I didnt even try with the flickers. I only added one. I was pretty surprised when I finally RAM previewed this after I felt like I was done. First of all I was surprised that my laptop was able to preview the whole video at once without me needing to cut the watching into little pieces. But I really felt like there were missed opportunities here XD I did a little cheating, maybe, at the end, bc I changed the position of the anime audio and the fades a little, but I didnt touch the actual clips. This whole thing was like a deaf edit except I knew what song I was using and I wasnt able to play the thing lol Aaaalright, guess thats all!
