Clean guitars can sound polite to the point of lifeless. The fix doesn't need an amp sim or a big chain. Open Soundtoys EffectRack and load Devil-Loc inside it.
Devil-Loc is a crushed, dirty little compressor, and on a clean guitar it adds character straight away. Grit, attitude and life, and you control how far it goes just by how hard you push it. A little gives the guitar some edge. More turns it into a proper statement.
