For photographer Giles Duley, two of the most intimate acts you can share with someone are taking their portrait and sharing a meal. Both require a form of intimacy; they are a language of connection, built on respect and the willingness to be present in a moment together.

Giles spends much of his working life in conflict zones, carrying immense emotional weight and encountering both his own trauma and that of others. While some people process this through exercise or running, Giles finds meditation through food and cooking. Through this practice, he has discovered the profound power of connecting with different communities; a practice that has shaped both his personal and professional life.
