Gilberto Campello is a percussionist , teacher and researcher from Recife, Brazil. He received a UNESCO-Aschberg grant and two honorific titles for his contribution to Brazilian music. His career as a musician and teacher of world music spans three decades in Havana, Cuba, Washington D.C, USA and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. For ten Years, he taught at the prestigious Maracatu Brasil percussion school in Rio. As a performing artist, he was featured on major Brazilian movies and television blockbusters original soundtracks, as well as band recordings.
