In celebration of Ravel’s 150th birthday a new video of Jack Gibbons playing Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit, trois poèmes pour piano d'après Aloysius Bertrand (Ondine, Le Gibet, Scarbo), filmed in New York in 2003, preceded by Sir John Gielgud reading Aloysius Bertrand’s original poems, with illustrations by Aloysius Bertrand, Victor Hugo (dedicatee of the original poems), and in Ondine Arthur Rackham's illustrations for the 1909 edition of Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué's Undine.
