Giant otters often swim away from the group to eat in peace.
This clip was sent to us by our Conservation Partner, Dr Adi Barocas. Adi is the project leader of our giant otter project in Peru. He and his team are working to protect endangered giant otters from human activities, particularly small-scale gold mining which is causing the destruction of the aquatic habitats inhabited by giant otters and a decrease in the quantities of fish giant otters depend on.
