A test of my Panasonic GH4, capable of 4K filming.
I used it (handheld and no image stabilization, so sorry for the shaking!) during my stops in Gothenburg and Halmstad central stations in September, 2014. Audio from the internal microphone. Somewhat graded in Colorista II and FilmConvert.
Personally, I think it's a bit too early to migrate to 4K, since neither I nor that many other people own a TV capable of showing the full resolution. On the other hand, if the resulting film is to be in full HD, it's great for cropping/panning in the image and giving more detail. Plus it's "future proof", since 4K is eventually coming broadly someday...
The GH4 is very limited compared to a "real" video camera, especially without the monster DMW-YAGHE connector box, and without an adapter I can't use any of my Canon lenses with it. Still, I can't help but be impressed with how detailed a 4K image really is compared with a full HD one.
It might be that all my future railroad videos will be shot in 4K (or 4K UHD, if we want to be picky). We'll see.
