This video is intended for those who are interested in getting started with electronics but aren't sure what they need. I discuss a checklist of items that I think are the bare minimum someone needs to get started.

Multimeter
breadboard
jumper wires
power/battery connector
5mm LED (assorted colors)
1/4 watt resistors (assorted values)
buttons/switches

I also discuss where you can purchase these items. I recommend using local electronics stores if they are available. You can also purchase these things online on websites like Amazon, but even better is supporting companies like Adafruit.com and Sparkfun.com. These two companies are a wonderful resource. And finally, if you want the most inexpensive but time consuming option is eBay.com. I show you how to search using the "buy it now" option, and how to sort the results starting with the lowest price.
