This week I've set myself the challenge of creating professional looking video using only my iPhone and a few other really affordable items and I'm so pleased with the results I've managed to achieve!
Firstly, let’s talk about the rules i’ve set myself for this challenge:
Rule Number 1
The aim is to create a talking head style video that is professional enough to be used by a BUSINESS to promote its services. What i mean by this is, youtube videos and vlogs are becoming far more common, so casual shots are much easier to create. I wanted to create something that I would be happy to use for a kickstarter campaign video, or on the homepage of a website.
Rule Number 2
I’ve set a maximum budget for the challenge of £60 not including the cost of the phone, which most people will already own. If i use equipment that I already own I must offer up an equally effective solution that would still fit within the budget.
And finally, Rule number 3
I’ve set myself a time limit of 30 minutes to setup the composition and start filming. I set this rule as a personal challenge to force me to make quick decisions but also to demonstrate that it needn’t take a long time to achieve professional results. Some people might think 40 minutes is a long time but if you’re making a professional looking video to promote your business then this time is a solid investment.
