I Asked Chat GPT open AI to generate a shot list for a short film with the prompt "write a shot list for a hacker at a desk" and this is what it gave me:
1. Establishing shot of the hacker sitting at a desk in a dimly lit room.
2. Close-up shot of the hacker's hands as they type rapidly on a keyboard.
3. Medium shot of the hacker from behind, their face obscured by the glow of the computer screen.
4. Close-up shot of the hacker's face, their expression intense as they focus on the screen.
5. Wide shot of the hacker's desk, showing multiple computer monitors and a cluttered workspace.
6. Close-up shot of the hacker's hand as they move a mouse cursor across the screen.
7. Medium shot of the hacker from the side, their face partially obscured by the computer screen as they lean back in their chair.
8. Close-up shot of the hacker's face as they look up and make eye contact with the camera.

I had a bit of time so decided to shoot this short film using the shot list. Admittedly there were a few shots which i changed to suit the "set" (my office) and once i got the shots into the edit i used my own creativity to expand and add a bit more "story" to the sequence but AI really did do most of the heavy lifting in planning this shoot! CHAT GPT OPEN AI is a new tool and i can see it having a lot of uses for filmmakers and youtubers to help our workflow, even if just for helping to generate ideas.
I shot and edited this short film in 1 day, from thinking of the rough idea, generating the shot list with chat GPT and filming it all, editing and now uploading to youtube.
This short film was shot entirely on the Sony Alpha A7Siii with Sigma 24-70mm f2.8, Sony 70-200mm f2.8 and 1 cheeky shot on the iPhone 14 pro, can you guess which shot was the iPhone 14 pro??
