The airfield at Ledquent (Stp 188) was built by the Germans in 1940 for operations against Britain. The airfield was originally known as Marquise West. It supported fighter units until December 1940 and was handed over to the German Army in 1942. Though the grass runway is gone, bunkers, shelters and unique Luftwaffe murals remain.
