Nearly two decades before Buzz stepped foot on Grant Field, a 1930 Model A Ford — the Ramblin’ Wreck — became the official symbol of Georgia Tech. The student body and administration wanted a mechanical mascot to represent our engineering culture and the Model A seemed to be the perfect engineering marvel for the job. It set a new standard in its time ... just like our students and alumni continue to do today.
