Mark Anderson and Jamie Henderson from Academy Geomatics share their experience with the #Elios3 drone for georeferenced #sewersurveys. Discover more about sewer drones: flyability.com/sewer-drones
Sewer surveys are critical to #sewer management as well as construction projects, as they clearly show the condition and layout of sewers and avoid damage during building. In countries like the UK, where Academy Geomatics operates, some sewer tunnels can be over 100 years old - and the only record of them may be a hand-drawn diagram. Academy Geomatics use the Elios 3 #drone along with its Surveying Payload and Gas Sensor to access and survey sewers underground with 0 #confinedspace entry.
The Elios 3 offers safer, faster, and more efficient inspections without compromising on #survey data thanks to its powerful #LiDAR payload. In this case, they surveyed a tunnel that was 10 meters below ground and 60 meters in length. Their final LiDAR scan with the Elios 3 was accurate to within 20 millimeters of terrestrial laser scans - matching the survey-grade results they were looking for!
Whether these scans are used for #sewerrepair or planning new construction, Academy Geomatics know they can deliver reliable, accurate data to their clients with the Elios 3.
