Im englischsprachigen Studiengang Geomatics for Environmental Monitoring (GEM) beschäftigen sich Studierende mit der Erfassung, Analyse und Verwaltung von Geodaten zur Überwachung und Bewältigung von Umwelt- und Klimaveränderungen. Mit den Fortschritten in der Satellitentechnologie, der Fernerkundung und den geografischen Informationssystemen (GIS) spielt das Fachgebiet eine wesentliche Rolle bei der Bewältigung globaler Umweltprobleme wie Klimawandel, Ressourcenmanagement und Urbanisierung.
