Strong opening, great glove system, but dull checklists and erratic pacing drain the promise fast.
Genotype drops you into an Antarctic research base with a pair of glove-based gauntlets that 3D-print living-creature weapons, in clear homage to Metroid Prime. Bolverk Games' Quest title has a promising first hour — a tactile inventory system, a good-looking infested base — but the writing's tone is flat, the combat spams enemy waves, and exploration devolves into ticking off identical rooms. A great premise undercooked in the lab.
