This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new Genesis GV60 Magma performance, electric crossover.
Wow, the All-New Genesis GV60 Magma is impressive!
The Genesis GV60 Magma is such a great blend of performance, sportiness, refinement, comfort and luxury, the interior materials are beautiful. Genesis says Magma is defined by 3 key attributes, Design, Driving Sensation and User Experience. The GV60 Magma delivers the highest level of performance within the Hyundai Motor Group, it’s the most powerful Genesis ever with up to 641 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds. It offers up to 357 km/222 miles of range, standard AWD.
The Genesis GV60 Magma comes with a rear electronic limited slip differential, electronically controlled adaptive dampers, Magma suspension and brakes, virtual gear shift mode, Drift mode, Launch control and Boost Mode. There are 5 drive modes, Range, Comfort, Sport, Sprint and GT.
The GV60 Magma is a little longer, wider and sits lower to the ground compared to the standard GV60. It has an athletic and muscular looking design with a wide body stance, a wing type rear spoiler with an extended kick up designed to minimize wind resistance, Magma 21” wheels with wide summer tires, orange brake calipers, black trim and a tire repair kit.
The Genesis GV60 Magma interior is upscale, there are so many thoughtful and unique details creating a sophisticated cabin. The upholstery is a combo of faux suede and leather giving the cabin a sporty feel with bright orange trim and seatbelts. The 27” display is well integrated, it combines both the digital driver display and touchscreen. The driver display has a wide variety of displays and customizable features including two different styles, the default Magma display or the GV60 style display.
In the US, the Genesis GV60 Magma starts at $69,950. In Canada, pricing has not been announced yet.
This Genesis GV60 Magma is compatible with the 800-volt charging infrastructure. At a DC Fast charger at speeds up to 350 kW, the Magma can charge from 10%-80% in 18 minutes. With the built-in NACS port you can access the Telsa Supercharger network.
