The Grinch and Max animated plush chimney scene was released by Gemmy at some point in the early 2000's, and features Max the dog and the Grinch, who turns his head and pulls a tree out of the chimney as he says three quotes and sings a snippet of the "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" song from the original 1966 Chuck Jones animated special.
Wow, here's something you don't see every day! This Grinch merchandise has actually become extraordinarily rare over the years, and it never even shows up on eBay. When it does, it's generally extremely expensive. This actually belongs to my brother, who somehow was able to find one on eBay earlier this month. It's not perfect, as the Grinch only moves his head, but how often do you even find one at all? In fact, he actually had one of these when we were way younger when it was still in stores, and that broke from either overuse or just natural causes. We ended up throwing it away, but didn't realize truly how rare it would become. I guess they didn't make too many of them and they were cheap given how easily they break. We actually had to break the seal on this one and took it out of its stand so we would be able to replace the batteries, which were unfortunately corroded. However, it still worked after cleaning it up and changing the batteries, so that's pretty sweet! Anyways, we wanted to share this with you guys since there's only one other video of it on YouTube, so enjoy!
Oh, and one last fun fact: that one quote the Grinch says in this about getting invited to Christmas is actually never spoken or used in any versions of the Grinch to my knowledge, so its origin and inclusion reasons are unknown. Weird!
