The Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 takes off-road capability into the water with an incredible combination of power, ground clearance, intelligent four-wheel drive, and deep-water capability. Its conventional water-wading depth reaches 800 millimeters, but Geely's amphibious technology could take things much further.
The Cruiser 700 produces around 1,113 horsepower from its 3-motor electrified powertrain and features technology designed for challenging terrain, including intelligent torque management and 233 millimeters of ground clearance.
Water is where things get especially interesting. The earlier Geely Galaxy Cruiser concept demonstrated the ability to float for up to 2 hours and travel through water at more than 8.5 kilometers per hour, or approximately 4.6 knots. Vehicle-mounted sonar and water radar were also developed to help the vehicle understand its surroundings while afloat.
The production Cruiser 700 has a claimed conventional wading depth of 800 millimeters. Reports suggest Geely's more advanced amphibious technology could also reach the production vehicle, although the complete 2-hour floating specification has not yet been fully confirmed for the production version.
