Porsche delivered one of the biggest 911 surprises of Monterey Car Week 2026 with the incredible Porsche 911 Flachbau RS. This factory one-off takes inspiration from the legendary Porsche 935/78 “Moby Dick” while bringing the idea into the modern era.
Created through the Porsche Sonderwunsch program in collaboration with Manthey, the Flachbau RS is based on the 991.2-generation Porsche 911 GT2 RS with the Weissach Package. It features newly developed bodywork, a distinctive 3-tier headlight design, extensive lightweight modifications and a huge rear wing inspired by the Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport.
The project took almost 3 years to develop and included aerodynamic testing, wind tunnel development and more than 50 laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Porsche also introduced something many North American enthusiasts have been waiting for: a manual-transmission Porsche 911 Carrera S. Available exclusively in the United States and Canada, it combines a 473-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-6 engine with rear-wheel drive and a manual transmission.
Monterey Car Week also featured Sally Carrera and 3 unique Porsche 911 models inspired by Toy Story 5, making this one of Porsche’s most diverse Monterey appearances yet.
