Gears of War: E-Day is shaping up to be one of Xbox’s biggest games of 2026, but how well does this Unreal Engine 5 showcase actually run?
I tested the **Gears of War: E-Day Open Beta** on **Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PC**, comparing graphics, resolution, ray tracing and frame-rate performance across the different modes.
In this video:
• Xbox Series S vs Series X graphics comparison
• Quality 30 FPS mode
• Balanced 40 FPS mode
• Performance 60 FPS mode
• High Frame Rate / 120Hz testing
• Horde Siege performance
• Competitive PvP FPS
• Xbox Series X ray tracing vs Series S
• Xbox vs RTX 3080 gaming PC
• Ultra vs Ludicrous PC graphics settings
• DLSS performance
• My impressions of the E-Day beta
The Series S surprisingly gets a 60 FPS mode, while Series X delivers much sharper visuals and additional ray-traced effects. I also tested the High Frame Rate mode using a 120Hz VRR display to see just how close these consoles actually get to 120 FPS.
On PC, I pushed my RTX 3080 all the way to the **Ludicrous graphics preset** to see just how demanding Gears of War: E-Day can get.
Which platform looks best, and which graphics mode should you actually use?
Let me know what you thought of the beta and what platform you’ll be playing Gears of War: E-Day on.
