So I know someone will mention that you can put the feeler gauge in place, and then screw the ground strap down to the electrode and be done, with no risk of going to far. While that does ensure you can’t accidentally screw it down too far, my experience has been that it doesn’t actually end up set where the feeler gauge is. The ground strap seems to spring back a bit after you loosen the screw. I suppose you could go a feeler gauge thinner and it will work out in the end, but I honestly just find it works just fine the way I do it in this video. So that’s the way I do it.
