As another tribute cover to one of my favorite Youtubers of all time, NCC and I are back together to perform the famous jingle for Game Theory! We also improvised a little skit beforehand that we hope you'll also enjoy (see how many easter eggs and copies of Super Smash Bros. Melee you can find in it).
MatPat's channel has been a great source of humor and good times for me ever since I started high school (back in freshman year when I first found his channel and started binge-watching his most famous vids, such as the "Aileron Roll" theory that IMO spawned the biggest anti-meme in history XD), and throughout my school years MatPat has always been dedicated to spending ridiculous amounts of time to outlandish theories just for the sake of engaging and uniting the gamer community. Thus, this piano cover was made to thank him and the Game Theory team for all the joy and fun they've brought into our lives.
But hey, that's just a theory... a GAAAME THEORY!!!
(P.S. MatPat if you read this, you should definitely do a video on how General Pepper from Star Fox is a fascist dictator bent on imperialism. There's just so much evidence for it, and with Star Fox 2 rolling around the time is ripe for another Stair Fax theory...)

I just cant understand why the Final Fantasy XIII series of games keep being so bad when their OSTs are so gorgeous 💜 I found this track in particular after hearing Glenntais arrangement of it on the Materia Collective album called Menu (which I did a track for a while ago), so here we are. Guess Ill have to find a Final Fantasy XIII-3 track to cover now too.

So this cover is one that I made for the VGM cover group Pixel Mixers for their newest indie games tribute album, The Great Tale of the Little Ones Vol. 2. This album features a whole ton of great covers in tons of different genres from all your favorite indie games, to which I contributed they mysterious and airy Waterfall theme from Undertale.
It took a while to arrange this one, as I wanted to try my best to both capture the original vibes of the tune while also adding some plinky, sparkly, waterfall-esque piano ornaments and harmonies. In the end it kinda feels like I just merged 3 or 4 songs into one since I had so many ideas going on, but Im happy how it turned out :P

Since we did something super meme-y and upbeat last week, its time for a darker and more somber thing to balance out the mood for a spooky October!
Im sorry to say Ive never played any Nier games, but I love Platinum Games to death so I had to give Automata some love! That coupled with the fact that Ive heard so much good about this games visuals, story, plot, and especially the music and I knew I had to make a cover from this OST sometime.
Luckily theres a lovely piano collection for Nier: Automata, and once again the godlike transcriber themrzakid had a transcription available for the famous opera boss battle music A Beautiful Song from this piano collection. I know the color of this arrangement is a bit different from the action-packed boss battle, but personally I kinda like how this arrangement is more somber and mellow to tell the sad story of the robots.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy my cover of the Piano Collections version of A Beautiful Song from Nier: Automata. Next week I got another famous somber VGM piano piece, and theres plenty of spooky covers coming up soon for Halloween time!

This classic piece was actually a special request from dedicated Patron Cameron Hochberg! A while ago I asked my Patrons (who have been supporting me for almost 2 years now I think o_0) what pieces theyd want covered, no boundaries, and so he said Cohens Masterpiece. At first I had never heard of the piece, but then I listened to it and never believed Id be able to play it. Over the course of the summer, I rallied myself to slowly and painfully learn it, and much to my surprise my fingers suddenly got the crazy energy to play it like Cohen would like (I hope).
I hope you all enjoy my rendition of this crazy piece of classical VGM piano literature, even if there are no exploding pianos at the end ;-; And if you want a request to be done for you one day, do consider helping me on Patreon! Heres the SEASON FINALE for Year 4 of DS Music Piano covers yall! Sadly, this is the last piano video I had ready for yall before summer started and I had to go to an engineering internship ;-; So for now, this is the end of my weekly piano vids.
I wanted to something with an end credits sort of feel for yall, so I thought what better way to tie all of it up than with this classic, epic Zelda tune! I combined some of the Staff Credits from Skyward Sword along with the classic tune Ballad of the Goddess (which is what most of the Staff Credits is anyway) touched with some bits of Zeldas Lullaby (since thats what Ballad of the Goddess is anyway) and spiced up with some DS-style flair.
Finally, its time for the sad farewells for the year. Finally, after waiting a year and then some after the unveiling of this game during E3 and the initial Switch release trailer, the day has come for LITERALLY the highest rated game of all time! Ladies and gentlemen, be prepared for the wonder that is Super Mario Jurassic Park... I mean Sonic Adventure DX Marios Cut... I mean Dapper Bowsers Story... I mean Melee Hells Mexican Mario... dangit SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY!
To celebrate this historic day, my friend Dean decided to pull the CRAZIEST one week switch (haha Switch see what I did there) and get together a piano duet cover of this beautiful water theme from Lake Kingdom. Its time for another Patron request this week! This weeks request is from Levi Bechtold, a wonderful fella whos been super supportive of the VGM community for years and I couldnt be happier to present this for him.
Im not the hugest Xenoblade fan, and this tune is definitely one of the more obscure ones from the OST. However, I could definitely hear the beautiful Yoko Shimomura flairs in the piece, so I wanted to try to encapsulate the hopeful/happy feeling of the best while trying to imitate how Shimomura-senpai might arrange this for solo piano. Still a gorgeous piece just like the rest of the soundtrack. Xenoblade Chronicles HD looks even more gorgeous, and I cant wait to see how the meme-tastic Wii graphics get upgraded.
