Also, that race was a trap. Since the head of the police wants to cancel the race, Don Genie catches him. Ryu is sent to the F-Zero Association, which head is Deathborn. Yeah, he works for Black Shadow, as well as Don Genie. Now, Black Shadow is going to use a device on him...it's build using a Reactor Mite and with it he wants to brainwash Ryu. That's the same thing he used with Haruka.
