Some little things I forgot to mention in the review:
- The "recipe ideas" system is no longer as vague as it was in Sophie 1. The requirements for each recipe are given, and if they're confusing, it usually means you have to synthesise more, or progress the story.

- Alchemy has "Support Skills" which can change effect levels and do a lot of useful stuff during alchemy. These skills are learned by your teammates depending on how close you are with them!

- Unfortunately the Quest board/system isn't as robust as Ryza 2, but it makes more sense with the game's world. Instead of having a separate "reptutation" with different groups in the city, you have an Adventurer Rank instead. Still fun, and the main way of getting money.

- You can speed up battles by 2x and speed up/skip text from the very start now. No NG+ required! Handy if you have to do a boss multiple times.

- Plachta can now synthesise items too! This seemed slightly tacked-on, but again, it makes sense for storyline reasons, and fits in well with Plachta's personal journey.

- (Spoiler?) Don't worry about character sidequests or trophies. As far as I know, nothing is missable, and your Clear Save allows you to go for a NG+ or carry on from where you left off.

Thanks to Koei Tecmo Europe for the free review code! Here is a (slightly edited) look at the first hour or so of Atelier Sophie 2, Gust's latest gem! I hope you all enjoy it.

In-depth review and thoughts coming soon, but to sum up a little... I really adored this game! I urge everyone to try it, if it looks interesting to you. Atelier has become a polished, addictive series that I really enjoy and can wholeheartedly recommend to almost anyone. A huge step-up from the original "Atelier Sophie" and incorporates a lot of great elements from the Ryza games.

Please note, these were my honest reactions at the time of filming, BUT there is a lot more depth to the game that wasn't shown here! Every element of the game improves later on.

MAGLAM LORD (Early Gameplay) - with Commentary (Read Description!)

I wanted to show you some early gameplay of this Switch/PS4 game that just got an English release, "Maglam Lord"! It's an action RPG and spiritual successor to the Summon Night: Swordcraft Story games on GBA, sharing a lof the same development team. I loved those games a LOT so I was excited to see a similar game.

NOTE 2: Since recording the video I got to grips with combat a lot more. There are lots of skills you can learn and switching between weapons for different enemies adds an element of strategy. It's not AS simple as I thought at first, so it's definitely worth sticking with it. I will try and upload more gameplay or a review later, if possible.

PLATFORM: Nintendo Switch (docked)

Early thoughts:
- Art style and character designs are super cute. The MC design is 10/10 (HOT)
- Dialogue is packed with humour and personality. The game is VERY text-heavy, which may not be for everyone, but if you treat it like a hybrid visual novel, it's very cute and fun
- The dating sim elements are very welcomed. There's clearly a lot more to uncover there
- As I said, I got to grips with combat a bit more since recording this video. When you get the hang of dashing, jumping and changing weapons, it's actually pretty fun.
- I like the request board as there's always an opportunity to grind for materials/EXP/character affection level.
- Nice, relaxing dating sim/RPG hybrid, if you're not looking for something super complex or taxing.

Yakuza - Baka Mitai (Ive Been A Fool) [Japanese/English Cover]

zoozbuh 2021-02-28 | This has been a long time coming. Yakuza (or "Ryuu ga Gotoku") is one of my all-time favourite game series' and I had to pay tribute to it in some tiny way. Despite it becoming a huge meme, I actually really love this song and the lyrics.

Hope you like the karaoke style subs as a nod to the song's origins (honestly, they took a while but were so fun to do, haha)

Side-note: "DAME DA NE!" - Get your practice in now. I'm sure when I go back to being inactive and uploading once every year, you'll all be shouting "DAME DA NEEEEEEE" at the top of your lungs. *sob*

If you're a fan of Japanese games and haven't tried the series yet, I can't recommend it highly enough. It's the perfect blend of gripping story, drama, humour and virtual tourism. "Judgement" is a game from the same developers, which is a bit like a Yakuza x Ace Attorney crossover, so that game is a brilliant starting point.

zoozbuh 2021-02-21 | Hi. Yep, it's me, I'm still here. Hope you're all doing well. This cover turned out to be a lot more ambitious and time-consuming than I ever thought it would be. I'm actually really proud of how the harmonies and ad-libs turned out, so I hope it resonates with people on some level. I tried to put my own spin on it wherever I could.

I first got inspired way back when I found a "sad version" of the song by Moonlight Records on YT. It totally changed the vibe of the song, and it made me think of a struggling, one-side relationship, possibly abusive and traumatic... where someone is deeply depressed, but ultimately trapped in a toxic cycle. Wait, that just got WAY too deep, my bad lolol

Okay, so hi! I'm back from the dead again :) Sorry for the inactivity, but unfortunately you're all used to it by now...

To say I've been on a huge Falcom/Trails kick recently would be an understatement. I just get absorbed into their RPGs - the story and lore spans across so many games, and it's all so satisfying.

This game, and this SONG in particular, was just stunning. I couldn't get "Way of life" out of my head for so long, even after beating the game. Somehow, despite my usual lack of motivation, this all got done very quickly. I put a lot of passion into the vocals, so I hope you like it.

(Well, as much passion as I could in a Japanese apartment and not having my neighbours hate me... o___o)

Persona 5 - Beneath The Mask (Male Piano Cover)

Sang this in honour of me finishing Persona 5! WOW, WHAT A GAME. There are very few games I would invest 90+ hours in, but this was one of them. It's not perfect by any means, but such great characters and an amazingly memorable soundtrack. Literally been listening to it in the car to work every day.

Thanks to Kaedelus for the amazing piano improv cover I used (check out the video link below). Thanks as well to Cammie for whipping up this "Zoozbuh the phantom thief" art. I don't need to tell you how amazing she is though, y'all already know. She felt this low-key art suited the mood of the song better, rather than going full-on phantom thief.

I might sing Last Surprise too buuuut depends on if I find an instrumental I like/I find the motivation to sing it. Oh and yeah, this was super fun to sing. I may have gone too far with the ad-libs but ah well.

I did a yandere song! It's pretty rare, so you better savour it tbh. The original pitch was too low for me so I had to pitch up by 3st (damn you and your inhumanly low voice, Gakupo...) I still feel like this may be the lowest I've ever sung though. Also, DAMN those chorus harmonies and those "la las" at the end.... so painful to get right.

I also thought there needed to be at least one creepy laugh, just because. Hope you enjoy and it doesn't scare you TOO much :P Thanks to Cammie for the lyrics. Hope you don't mind me cheekily changing a line and a couple words. Oh and thanks for inspiring me to make my own version of this xD

After hearing Cammie's English version and getting used to the melody a bit more, I actually grew to like it a lot though. Okay, so I've been totally addicted to this song ever since Project Diva X came out and I immediately felt like covering it. I wrote lyrics and then had the common realisation that the song doesn't suit my voice AT ALL... Then I started getting bored with how bad I sounded, so I got a bit creative with the autotune/ harmonies/ robotic voice layering. Wow, why was this song so hard to sing? Tried raising the pitch, tried lowering it, but it only seemed to make it harder. Oh well, I still managed to finish it somehow. I really liked JoyDreamer's lyrics for this song, not to mention it's super catchy, so I've been wanting to cover it for a while.

This was yet another song from Project Mirai DX which I heard, instantly loved and have been meaning to cover for a long time. So by VERY popular request, here is a new Kaito song also from Project Mirai DX. Being totally honest, the song took a while to grow on me, but now it's probably one of my favourite songs in the game. Len's version in-game is also a pretty nice touch.

I found the lyrics strangely dark considering the upbeat, jaunty tone of the music, but it made writing them a lot more interesting. Hope you guys enjoy my version! Don't forget to view in buttery-smooth 60 fps, whoo!!

So... this is happening. YAY! My second English cover from OSTER, but this time it's another duet with the lovely TBOE. I really have to thank her once again for being super awesome, efficient and easy to work with. She totally nailed it in every frickin way.

'Sound Horizon' is a Japanese musical group, led by the composer "Revo". Their works closely resemble suites, each based around an in-depth story and themes, much like musicals. They also love incorporating foreign languages, different instruments and guest vocalists, as well as varied genres of music. My friend Neibs introduced them to me a few years ago, and as I've been wanting to try more "musical" type songs lately, I thought I'd give this one a try! Many thanks to Neibs for writing the English lyrics (although it didn't take much persuading for a Sound Horizon song).

The song is called (translated into English) "The Dying Maiden with the Moon's Reflection in Her Hand". It is from their 2008-released album "Moira", which borrows from greek mythology - this song in particular is about two twins, Misia and Elef. NOTE: Some of the words are in Greek, since that's how it was in the original. As I said, SanHora's songs often have foreign phrases littered in - not just English, but various languages.

YES. JUST YES. This is by far the most epic and kick-ass 'Tales' opening theme yet, so after listening to it a few times and getting addicted, I just had to sing my own version. I also decided to write some English lyrics, because why not?

I got slightly creative with some lines, as I didn't want the lyrics to sound too dry and literal. The original track has a pretty epic, anthemic feel so I wanted to try and replicate that - not just with the singing, but lyrics too. I don't think I managed it that well but hey, I tried :P

Changed "wanna be white" to "wanna glow white", as the original line came across as slightly racist/odd to me. LOL I know it's metaphorical, but just my opinion. I rewrote other parts slightly anyway, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

Okay, I guess YouTube decided to cut down my last description for no reason, so here goes with a rewrite :/ A classic Miku song from back in 2008, but now in English! Special thanks to Neibaku for badgering me to get this done for the past year or so... Hopefully she'll get her version done sometime in the next ten years too! :D

The song is quite clever, as it has two sets of lyrics. The "inside version" (on screen in the original video) is from the POV of Miku as a vocaloid, whereas the "outside" is from the perspective of "Miku the real girl". However you interpret the lyrics, it's a lovely song, so I can understand why it was popular back in the day.

I won't be uploading for the next few days (holidays and all that), but I have been looking at your requests and considering several of them... Honestly, trust me on that. xD

A special exclusive treat for all my awesome Twitter and FB people! :D An English vocaloid cover which I wouldn't usually upload on my main channel - since I'm trying to avoid songs which really don't suit my voice (and which have female videos to go with them), I wasn't sure how people would react to this.
