I previously did a video like this, but under the circumstances of new FPS's on the way I thought I would do an updated video.
In general, FPS games have been copying off of each other. There has been no new ideas in the community, and this is especially true in the case of Call of Duty. Instead of innovating and changing, they pick up ideas and try to implement them into the Call of Duty formula. DICE and EA have been trying to compete with the juggernaut known as Call of Duty by changing their formula more towards Call of Duty. The proof is in the pudding: the gameplay is less tactical, more fast paced, and overall the game has been shaped to be a more fluid shooter. Yes, there are vehicles, but even still it even has a Call of Duty feel to it.
Also, the third party of this all does not have a very good start into the mix. Medal of Honor had a rocky start with 2010, and it does not seem as if Warfighter will be much of a change. Sure, it looks different, but the same "clunky" controls exist.
In general, FPS games are not bringing anything new to the table. Things have been rinsed and repeated, and if not that then they have been taken from other games.
But, what do you guys think of all of this?
