Yes, Call of Duty is a killer. But, Spartan, what ever do you mean?
I mean it kills off any other online shooter game due to the sheer mass of followers it has. There's no breathing room for other multiplayers to take root and develop. Games like Homefront, Resistance Fall of Man, Crysis, HAZE, and KillZone get shuffled out because people go into the Call of Duty series blindly.
They hate it....yet they buy it, me included. Why?
We should be asking ourselves which games will be killed off by Call of Duty, not the other way around. Because so far, how many of these "Call of Duty Killers" have achieved their goal?.....Probably none, Call of Duty is still there. Battlefield is the only game that competes with this juggernaut, but even that is falling prey to the influence of the money maker we all know to love to hate.
But, what do you guys think?
