A Lovely Jaunt | Fusing the Form of a Comedy with the Structure of a Greek Tragedy @ALovelyJaunt | Uploaded July 2020 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
The climax of Emma is a point of anagnorisis, aligning the book with the structure of a Greek tragedy, but the form of the book is that of a comedy, ending with marriage and babies. For me, this is genius on the part of Austen. She fuses these two forms beautifully!
