Tanya also reflected on the beginnings of their romance, which grew through long-distance conversations before they built a life together. “We fell in love through words, through laughter, through honesty, through late night calls, and long distance longing,” she said. Recalling one of Peabo’s cherished remarks, she added, “He once told me he’d gone to England to find the love of his life, and somehow, against all odds, different countries, different generations, completely different lives, we found each other.”
Fighting back tears, Tanya expressed gratitude for the six years they were blessed to share after Peabo’s heart attack, saying those years allowed him to pour himself into their son, Kit. “I get to see you through our son,” she said, noting that Kit inherited his father’s gifts, smile, and “best of all, your heart.” In a heartbreaking conclusion, she told her late husband, “I will forever be yours, and you will forever be mine.
