Fuels, logistics, and shrinkflation are hitting hard.
Even with possible diplomatic progress, the Strait of Hormuz disruptions, tanker backlogs, and refinery issues mean the real pain is still coming. Fuel prices drive up transportation costs, which flows into everything on store shelves.
We’re already seeing:
• Smaller packages for the same (or higher) price
• Weaker/cheaper packaging (thinner plastics, crinkly water bottles)
• Some favorite products disappearing entirely
• Mountain House and other brands shrinking portions dramatically
Prepper Advice:
• If you love a specific canned or packaged item — buy and store it now
• Repackage into Mylar or glass for longer shelf life
• Focus on bulk staples you can rotate
• Accept that “normal” grocery shopping is changing
