We just got the latest version of Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) 12.6 on Hardware 3, and it's time for a raw, unfiltered first drive! I take my Model Y through snowy roads, medium-speed streets, highways, and into Ann Arbor, testing how well Tesla's AI has adapted to winter conditions and urban driving.
Support Matt's efforts to get an upgraded AI 4 Model Y by using his referral code! https://ts.la/matthew60071
🔥 Highlights:
- Snow Performance: Does FSD finally adjust for slippery roads, or are we still fishtailing?
- Highway Driving: Major improvements in merging & decision-making—actually feels human!
- City Streets Disaster: Timid at stop signs, weird lane choices, and… yeah, it’s bad.
- Phantom Braking & Speed Bugs: Unexpected slowdowns, incorrect speed limits—frustrating.
- Major Regression in Urban Driving? My honest take on whether this is an upgrade or a step backward.
👀 Watch as FSD impresses on the highway but completely falls apart in city driving. Is this a sign that Hardware 3 is getting left behind? Would I roll back to the previous version? Let’s find out.
💡 What do you think? Have you tried FSD 12.6 yet? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
