A Lovely Jaunt | From YA to Classic Lit: Scythe and... ?? @ALovelyJaunt | Uploaded September 2019 | Updated October 2024, 23 hours ago.
We are back with another video in the series where I pair a classic with a young adult novel. What do you think I will pair with Scythe?

In this video, I also take a look at the difference between utopian and dystopian fiction as well as how Scythe addresses two main questions: if everyone can live, how do you decide who gets to live AND with how does such a powerful segment of the population self-regulate? I really love the way that Scythe extracts humanity from the "death" problem and then explores how that world might look.

The classic novel that I chose to pair with Scythe extracts humanity not from the death problem, but from the birth or family life problem and then explores how the world might look with that completely controlled.
