This trip almost didn’t happen.

After pausing my Van & Trike Tour due to rising costs, I got an unexpected call from Tri-A-Bike in Southern California: “What if we fly you out and show you our riding area?”

So I left snowy Detroit and headed west — trading ice, sub-zero temperatures, and winter chaos for palm trees, blue skies, and five days of cycling in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley.
