Someone on TikTok requested for me to send him the plans that I've created for realistically working portal technologies.
You have to understand that there are different types of portals, not just in a singular form of what we would call a portal. And these portals are strictly limited to their visual underpinnings. I have no clue for the use of force fields, replicators or the other various technologies that might create an actual Star Trek-like holodeck.
I limit my insights to the visual side of things.
Also, I'm working with posters to describe my ideas. And while computer graphics could be much more satisfying in conveying these ideas, I don't have them. So, please try your ability to understand what I'm presenting in poster form, because the results of all of these ideas would be just as amazing, whether I used graphics or posters in my explanations.
Now, as I stated, there are three types of actual portals, each with a certain degree of 'portalness'.
The first type is what I call Photographic Portals which uses photographic techniques akin to pre-lenticular technologies.
The second type are what I call Televisual Portal Systems.
Both of these two types of portal techniques and technologies rely on the basic insight that invisibility and holodecks (virtual environments) are inverse forms of each other: Turn an invisible object outside-in, you'll have a holodeck. Turn a holodeck inside-out, you'll have an invisible object again, but only in the correct outside environment that it blends perfectly into. So, in order to maintain the symmetry between invisibility and holodeck states, there must be other outside realities in which the extroverted holodeck does blend into perfectly!
This leads to the third and most real of all three types of portals: the Cosmic Portal!
I have plenty of speculations on Cosmic Portals, but they are just that, speculations. These types of portals would include fantastic Star Trek technologies that are way above my own purely visual insights.
The two main types that I want to focus on here are the purely visual aspects of both Photographic and Televisual Portal Systems.
