This is what partnership looks like. πΏ
Meet Celia, assistant manager at Walnut Creek Wetland Park in Raleigh β one of our favorite Project Pando collaborators. Walnut Creek drains nearly all of downtown Raleigh's stormwater, and it's been struggling with eroded banks, invasive privet, and a community space that's been overlooked amid the city's rapid expansion over the last few decades.
Project Pando is supplying native saplings to help stabilize the streambank and replace the invasive species β a pocket forest installation right where it's needed most. It's hard, patient work, but the first 1,000-square-foot planting site is going beautifully.
This is how we heal urban ecosystems. One stream bank at a time.
