Frisco Peak road improvement project is a great project for the BLM Color Country District in Utah. It’s perfectly in line with several of the administration’s priorities. It enhances public accesses and increases public and personnel safety and it’s line with our partners, the other federal agencies, Beaver County, Iron County, private industry users and other users of the comm sites that are located on the peak. The Frisco Peak site is a very important site for several reasons: public safety, telecommunication infrastructure, television, science—many, many users have facilities and need to access the site, including several federal agencies, Beaver and Iron Counties, television and private telecomm companies, an observatory for the university of Utah, and the general recreating public. A lot of people like to go up there for the views, for the vista. There’s also a hang-gliding launch ramp up there. It’s at an extremely high elevation and provides a fairly unique opportunity for people that are looking for that recreation opportunity.
