Happy St. George's Day to you, if that's your thing. I was always on the side of the dragon.

I talk a little bit about Trollope's The Eustace Diamonds and its fabulous first line.

Then I ask what are we to do with the recent biography of Philip Roth following the allegations of sexual misconduct by its author causing the US publisher to announce that they have decided "to pause the shipping and promotion" of the book?

What should my friend do if he is already 200 pages into this 900-page mammoth?
