Anyone excited for the recent Pokemon Sword and Shield news? I am! I was gonna release Gohans Anger this week, but I felt like this is more appropriate for the time being to celebrate. Gohan will get his spotlight like he always done soon enough lol
Oh yeah, a bit of a disclaimer: Yes Im aware I didnt use the second half of the source. I felt like the first half fit perfectly with what I envisioned and I wanted to build up from that. I know it wont stop the purists from reeing at me, Ive been doing this seriously for at least 5 years now lol but hey, whatcha gonna do.
So this was another random idea that popped up into my head after listening through the DPPT soundtrack. Not exactly lo-fi more just old school style hip hop. I couldnt get this as loud as I wanted it to be without sacrificing some fidelity. but then I realize having the cleanest mix isnt the biggest priority with this genre. The gritty-ness helps with the style.
You know those soundtracks that you dont appreciate much until much later, then you listen to it again and youre like damn this hit different It was basically that when I listened to this song a few days ago before making the remix. I went to work and this was the result, hope you guys enjoy.
Tambourines are really cool, by the way like where have they been all my life whoa. They really add to the drums on this and I was wondering what those shaker-like sounds were in a lot of drum breaks for a while. Once I figured it out, I didnt know how to act lmao

Hey look, its Mystery Dungeon again! Been a while hasnt it? This time its nothing super epic for lack of a better term. More along the lines of chill (but that drummer doesnt really sound like hes having a chill time)
This was kind of an old project, something that I started up when Retro beat PMD2 (I believe the whole playthrough is on stream on his channel) and I was really happy to see him beat one of the biggest parts of my childhood, so I had this weird craving for a drum kit in a chill song and went to work. This is the result, so I hope you guys enjoy!
Whoever that drummer is, hes probably sweating bullets right now, but hes probably even angrier at me for sequencing the drums that way lmao sorry (Dont worry, its all sequenced in a piano roll, I dont have any musicians in my basement playing these songs I arrange)
Also Im finally done with finals (lul) so I can focus more on music and streaming stuff which I really really want to Im just letting my anxiety get the better of me and its really annoying. I used to do it just fine years ago but right now idk why its so difficult. but Ill get there eventually. Music and chill streams were so fun.

So for this remix I went for a future bass vibe. It was something I havent done since 2017 so Im still new to this. Though I gotta say Im happy with how this one turned out. Let me tell you, singing this was not an easy task. When I first heard it I was like yooo a song thats in my vocal range so I sang the first verse and and made it half through the remix...
Then it was time to sing the high notes. YEAH OOF. That was so hard it took me a few days to really get it down until I was satisfied with how it sounded. along with my family being so loud all the time it was hard to find time to record my vocals lol
Oh and a quick thanks to Sharax for helping me with mixing in the vocals. She gave me tips on how to make it sound clear (I had tons of reverb on it before and it didnt sound very clean) and she really helped. Idk if youre reading this hun but thank you for the billionth time 💙

Whether you call it Dont ever Forget or I dont want to say goodbye, here is the remix of that song! It has been a while since I did a PMD2 remix so its nice to come back to it. (also I cant fit the other title in the thumbnail lol)
So for this one I went for a more acoustic feel to really add to the sad feeling. On my last one I had some complaints that it wasnt sad enough because it was Drum and Bass. While DnB is very energetic and happy a lot of the time, it can also be sad. I just didnt know how to produce dnb very well back then lol
Anyway this wasnt too complicated, acoustic music is really relaxing to make, since there isnt too much of a focus on sound design. Its all really there in front of you so all you really have to focus on is the composition and arrangement aspect of the song. Though that doesnt make mixing them any easier! Drum kits especially are hard for me to mix but Ive ranted about that too many times in the past lol
I hope you guys enjoy it because it has been almost 5 YEARS since my last remix of this song in particular. Time flies. At the time I was some edgy 17 year old trying to make drum and bass music by using PMD soundtracks as practice. Now Im an edgy 22 year old so not much has changed :P jkjk

Sans is in Smash ultimate... kinda lol. So for that and the 4 year anniversary (which is on the 15th), I wanted to make a mashup of Lifelight with, you guessed it MEGALOVANIA. Except this time its the smash version and also trying to mimic smashs style. So commencing guitar and violin spam! (I still wish I had a good solo violin library wehhh)
Mixing guitars just doesnt get easier does it? Jesus christ I cant tell you how many frustrating moments Ive had trying to get them to work with everything else, also trying to make the drumkit sound beefy enough to go well with the feel of the song. Since it seems a lot of people have trouble making drum kits loud and impacting (myself included) because of how insane the transients are with the kick and snare specifically. So compressing them is almost required if you want a loud mix. Only issue is you end up amplifying the sound of the room with the snare recording which makes it sound gross. So now you have to gate it and... yeah let me stop before I get into a rant about mixing acoustic stuff lol
Despite still being a novice with this kind of music, Im pretty happy with how this turned out. Felt excited to input new ideas, hear them work well and Im typing this a few days before uploading so Im excited for you to hear it! Youre probably listening to it right now as youre reading this huh? Or maybe youre the kind that waits until the end of the video to read descriptions and comments? I do that sometimes.
As for things in life, Im really sorry about no upload last Friday.
(personal stuff incoming. Just an explanation for those who are curious)
I had a pretty bad anxiety episode last weekend. I couldnt eat or sleep properly for 3 days, trembled a lot, I was in pretty bad shape. Ive always had panic attacks but this one was a whole different animal. Not entirely sure where it came from or why it got that bad, but Im looking into counceling to hopefully learn a thing or to on how to deal with this in case it happens again. and then after getting better, I just came out of the gate working on this remix lol. It was a nice way to get my mind off things.
